Tonight we learned just how much courts matter.
US District Judge Andrew Hanen, a GW Bush appointee who was hand-picked to hear a mean-spirited, politically motivated lawsuit against immigrant families, just issued a preliminary injunction that temporarily blocks the implementation process of the new immigrant deferred action programs. The ruling possibly pushes back the start date for millions of immigrants workers to come forward, register, and apply for work permits, which is planned to begin as soon as February 18, 2015 for DREAMers.
We’re confident the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals will overturn the ruling, because hundreds of legal scholars have already determined that President Obama’s immigration action was completely lawful.
Can you help us spread the word that undocumented Nevadans should still be ready to apply? This ruling is just a temporary set back, not the end.

We hope you can join us Tuesday night with Congresswoman Dina Titus and the office of Senate Leader Harry Reid in Las Vegas (5pm, East Las Vegas Community Center) for a free DACA and DAPA community forum. We’ll provide updates on the lawsuit. We also have community forums in Winnemucca and Battle Mountain this week, it’s full steam ahead for immigration action…Nevada is ready!
